In 1903 Husqvarna made their first motorcycle. They also started manufacturing stoves, sewing machines and bicycles. When military orders dropped after the Danish-Prussian War of 1864 and the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71, Husqvarna begun making shotguns and hunting rifles.
In 1867 the company became a limited company under the name Husqvarna Vapenfabriks Aktiebolag.Ad for the company from 1899, for their velocipede. Thanks to the Husqvarna branch, the annual production of barrels for muskets from the Jönköping arsenal increased from about 1,500 to over 12,000.Įventually all production was moved to Huskvarna and in 1757 the arsenal was privatized under the ownership of Fredrik Ehrenpreus. The plans were approved and put into work the same year. The new work should act as a branch of the Jönköping arsenal, where water supply had become irregular. In 1689 the manager at the nearby state arsenal in Jönköping, Erik Dahlbergh, suggested to the King that the crown should support the construction of a new milling work at the waterfalls just outside Huskvarna. The action is an exact replica of a Mauser model 98 except it has the sportorized half safety for the mounting of the scope. I was hoping that someone could help me with the model number on a Swedish Husqvarna Rifle. This holds true for the bolt action rifles from the M46 through the 1900 series of rifles. *Husqvarna stamped the serial numbers on the left side of the barrels just ahead of the receiver. Has the wing safety or whatever its called ( going to have to remove that and have a sport safety for a scope,im assuming. On the rifle it says husqvarna vapenfabriks.
*Serial number 1377XX It says nitro on the barrel, has the crown stamped on the receiver and on the butt plate.
